Just like Bennifer and Kimye, Australia’s newest power couple Kyly Clarke and James Courtney have debuted a hybrid celebrity nickname — that they gave themselves.
Clarke, TV personality and the ex-wife of cricket legend Michael Clarke and V8 Supercar driver Courtney, both posted photographs of themselves on Instagram, coupled with cutesy captions and their joint name: “Jaly”.
While rumoured to have been an item since July, the famous duo went public with their relationship late last month and have since put their love proudly on display.
Currently on holidays in Northern NSW, posts show Jaly have been hiking, dining and drinking cocktails together, obviously revelling in each others’ company.
“So many reasons to smile,” Clarke, 39, wrote on her Instagram, directed at her speedy new beau. “The laughter never stops.”
Fifteen time race winner Courtney, 40, shot back with “The #Jaly Northern NSW tour continues …”.
The pair both suffered public divorces in recent years.
Kyly and Michael Clarke announced they were divorcing in February after meeting at high school and seven years of marriage.
Courtney went through a bitter divorce from wife Carys in 2017.
Their going public has been compared to Michael Clarke’s whirlwind and highly public romance with fashion designer Pip Edwards, founder of cult activewear brand P.E. Nation.
The couple went public in July after many attempts at playing their relationship off as a friendship and the same month, played happy blended families on holiday with kids in tow.
There have been no reports of bad blood between Kyly and Michael Clarke, with reports at the time of their split stating there had been no third party brought in to settle their $40 million divorce and custody arrangements.
