The son of Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim has avoided jail after police found illegal testosterone drugs in his home two years ago.

The son of Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim has avoided jail after police found illegal testosterone drugs in his home two years ago.

Daniel Taylor, 28, was found guilty of possessing a prescribed restricted substance at the Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney on Tuesday. Magistrate Jennifer Atkinson sentenced Taylor to a 12-month conditional release order and warned him it is “never acceptable” to possess substances like this.

In August 2017, Australian Federal Police searched Taylor’s Dover Heights unit for an unrelated matter when they found syringes with a clear liquid substance labelled “’primoteston-testosterone”.

Ms Atkinson said Taylor’s decision not to reveal who the drugs belonged to was “misguided” and the person needs to take responsibility.

“That person needs to open up,” the magistrate told the court. Taylor served in the Australian Army and toured Iraq before returning to Sydney in 2017. He now runs a food business with his mother Melissa. Last year, he was cleared of his involvement in an illegal tobacco smuggling ring connected to his uncle Michael Ibrahim.
