Jackie O’s slur forces Roxy Jacenko’s book to be reprinted
Roxy Jacenko’s upcoming book had to be reprinted after a botched endorsement from radio queen Jackie ‘O’ on the back cover could better be described as character assassination.
PR queen Roxy Jacenko’s latest book had to be scrapped after being printed with a botched back cover endorsement from KIIS Network star Jackie O.
The endorsement read “Roxy never fails to disappoint…”, which gave readers the impression Jacenko is a constant failure.
“Without question it’s a nightmare and not something anyone wants to happen,” Jacenko said.
“It’s a f*** up, but Jackie’s a friend and it certainly should have said, ‘Roxy never fails to deliver’.”

According to Jacenko, six proofreaders missed the error, which was this month spotted by a friend who read an early copy.
The book will hit shelves on November 28 with an updated endorsement which now reads “Roxy never fails to deliver and this book is an easy, interesting read that people in a lot of professions (not just PR) could learn something from”.
Publisher Allen & Unwin has taken responsibility for the mistake and has copped the bill for scrapping the first print run.
“This was a proofing error made by our editorial department,” an Allen & Unwin spokesman said.
“Thankfully, we identified this error when the advance copies arrived at our office — prior to the book’s release — and as such have reprinted with an updated quote from Jackie O.”
The book, titled Roxy’s Little Black Book Of Tips & Tricks, is billed as “the no bullshit guide to all things PR, social media, business and building your brand”.
Jacenko wrote the book, advertised as a “handsome handbag-sized volume that’s perfect for the millennial worker on the run”, in just six weeks in order to have it in stores for Christmas.
Asked how the mistake happened, she suspected a “transcription error” but said she would not be seeking further explanation from Allen & Unwin because staff had “apologised profusely”.
