Loose-fitting clothing, abstinence from alcohol and flashing some serious bling on her ring finger?
Could it be that John Ibrahim and his long-time lady love Sarah Budge have some big news on the horizon?
The couple, who have overcome a string of challenges throughout their courtship, had the gossip mill churning on Friday when they attended a harbour cruise party to promote Kyle Sandilands’ latest prosecco brand Neuva.
Despite litres of the stuff being emptied into flutes throughout the day, Budge — dressed in an uncharacteristic ensemble of pants and loose-fitting top — abstained from drinking any alcohol and stuck to water, which had a few wondering if the model was expecting.
A new arrival would take Ibrahim’s child count to three. The retired King of the Cross has two children from past relationships — 30-year-old son Daniel (from whom he is estranged) and seven-year-old daughter Eliana to ex-partner Skye Fuller.
Budge, meanwhile, was also seen flashing a very conspicuous emerald ring on her left-hand ring finger — a detail not lost on many of the yacht’s other invitees, which included Sandilands’ partner Tegan Kynaston and the couple’s good pal, convicted drug dealer Simon Main (who puffed away on a cigarette most of the day).
But it was Budge and Ibrahim who were the talk of the soiree, given the pair rarely make public outings together and almost never discuss their relationship.
The only details to have been made public are those that spilt out during Budge’s gun-possession trial in 2019. She was acquitted of all the charges.
It was then that Budge revealed in court that Ibrahim liked to be called “Sexy John”. She also described Ibrahim as “funny, charismatic, stubborn and private”.
Contacted yesterday about the possibility of a baby or a wedding — or both — Ibrahim declined to comment.
