ONE of the ABC’s top stars has complained he out-rates millionaires working in commercial TV and isn’t even in the top 20 paid presenters on the national broadcaster.

Taxpayer-funded journalist Barrie Cassidy, who presents the once-a-week Sunday morning talk fest Insiders, is upset to have been included in a list of stars likely earning top dollar on the national broadcaster.

Cassidy took to Twitter this morning after The Daily Telegraph revealed the ABC’s top 20 on-air presenters earn more than $225,000, with some taking home up to $450,000.

Cassidy — one of the ABC’s most high-profile talents — wrote on Twitter: “FYI I’m not in the top 20”.

He added: “And the program you call ‘fringe panel show’ outrates both today and sunrise where they earn millions”.

Recent ratings put Cassidy’s Insiders at around the 120th most watched program of the week.

The taxpayer-funded broadcaster won’t reveal how much it is forking out for each presenter.
