The venue that held the wedding attended by victims of the horror Hunter Valley bus crash has paid tribute to those who lost their lives.
Wandin Estate hosts dozens of weddings every year around the picturesque dam and winery at the heart of their Lovedale property, including Sunday afternoon’s ceremony of a young couple.
In a statement, Wandin Estate said they were “deeply saddened” by the tragedy.
“We are deeply saddened to hear of the bus crash overnight that has claimed the lives of some of our guests,” the statement read.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the victims and we are supporting them in any way we can.
“At this time, we are providing support to those guests who need our help and we wish to maintain their privacy and won’t be making further statements.”
Located on Wilderness Rd in Lovedale, the sprawling property includes a winery, cellar door tasting and a wedding venue.
It is understood Sunday’s wedding was held overlooking the dam and attended by about 100 people.
Brown wooden chairs laid out in rows of four in the sunshine looked down onto a platform where, beneath a wooden arch, the couple were married.
Guests posted happy snaps afterwards as photographers took the newlyweds through the vineyard.
The reception was held in the venue’s “Cricketer’s Pavilion”, overlooking the Wandin Estate vineyards.
The venue also features accommodation for the bride and groom, and other villas for up to 42 guests.
