Inner West Council slammed for focusing on world issues and not local ones
Greens members of Inner West Council have been slammed for arguing over climate change and submarines while they run near the bottom of Sydney LGAs for vaccination rates.

A Greens-dominated local council has been accused of “navel gazing” and focusing on issues like nuclear subs and the upcoming Glasgow climate change summit rather than boosting lagging vaccination rates in its LGA.
Sydney’s Inner West Council, which takes in such hippie hot spots as Newtown and Enmore, has the third lowest vaccination rate of any council in the metropolitan area, with just 62.8 per cent of residents fully vaccinated.
Despite the lacklustre performance the agenda for tonight’s council meeting includes Greens motions to oppose the recently announced AUKUS defence agreement and a carbon emissions reduction plan.
Councillor Darcy Byrne, who was recently deposed as mayor, said: “I suppose this should ne no surprise given that the last time the Greens Party controlled Marrickville Council they launched a disastrous boycott campaign against Israel.”
