Hunt for gang associate over Sydney teen’s execution

A GANG associate anguished by his 18-year-old nephew’s brutal stabbing death is living it up overseas while police try to track him down over the “cold-blooded” execution of Sydney teenager Brayden Dillon. The 15-year-old was shot in the head at close range as he slept in his bedroom.

ABDUL “Abs” Abu-Mahmoud was so close to his nephew Adam Abu-Mahmoud that he had the word “Adam” tattooed across the back of his neck.

When 18-year-old Adam was allegedly stabbed to death in 2016, police claim Abdul was distraught and vowed violent revenge.

Now NSW Homicide Squad are trying to trace Abdul’s movements overseas as they investigate one of Sydney’s most shocking crimes — the cold-blooded execution in his bed of 15-year-old Brayden Dillon, the younger brother of the teenager who allegedly killed Adam.

Joshua Dillon, then, 18, allegedly stabbed Adam Abu-Mahmoud to death in Anderson Ave, Panania.

Joshua was arrested and charged with murder, and during a court appearance Abdul Abu-Mahmoud, also nicknamed Chokolatta after the cafe he owned in Bankstown, allegedly threatened to kill Joshua’s family.

“We are seeking witnesses who may have been at Burwood Local Court on 31 August, 2016 and/or Bankstown Local Court on 6 December, 2016,” Homicide Squad commander Detective Superintendent Scott Cook said.

“Our inquiries have revealed a man verbally threatened Brayden’s brother, and threatened harm on the family, including Brayden.”

In April 2017 Conrad Craig, 27, allegedly stormed into the Glenfield home Brayden shared with his mother and shot him in the head at close range as he slept in his bedroom.

Craig is one of two people who have already been charged over Brayden’s death but police say there are others in their sights, including Abdul Abu-Mahmoud, who left Australia about the time Craig was charged.

Murdered teen received menacing calls before killing

Detectives will allege phone records show Craig, who has yet to enter a plea, and Abu-Mahmoud, were in contact in the weeks leading up to Brayden’s murder.

According to court documents, Craig came into a significant sum of money after the shooting and splashed some of it on his ex-partner and a bike for his daughter.

Police know Abu-Mahmoud has recently been to Thailand and Lebanon but they are seeking information about his current location.

He refused to comment on the allegations when contacted, via a third party, by The Sunday Telegraph on Friday and claimed he was simply “on vacation”.

Abu-Mahmoud associated with members of the Brothers for Life gang, who often congregated at his Chokolatta cafe before police obliterated the group.

At the height of the gang’s violence in 2013, he was shot at outside the cafe by members of a rival Brothers For Life chapter.

Craig, who converted to radical Islam, later became a BFL member .

“We’ve got people before the court, but we’re not finished,” Superintendent Scott Cook said.
