Ahead of playing as the pre-game entertainment for Wednesday night’s Origin decider, singer-songwriter Brad Cox said fans can expect a show that is “high energy, loud and obnoxious”.
“We’re there to get fans fired up for a big game of footy so we’ll be playing accordingly,” the country singer from Jindabyne said.
Despite being a big footy fan himself, Brad told Sydney Confidential he’s never been to a semi-final, grand final or Origin game before.
“This is the first big footy game I’ll have been to, I’m just excited to see the crowd and be part of the atmosphere,” he said.
“I reckon we’re gonna start a trend. NRL and country music go hand-in-hand, I think we’ll be the first of many.”
Wednesday night will also mark the release of Brad’s new single, The High Cost Of Living, featuring US country star Randy Houser.
While Brad’s crew as he tours his latest album comprises a few Queenslanders, the band is all from NSW.
“I’m sure they’re all very keen and ready to watch the Blues win too,” Brad said of his band.
