A heartbroken Sydney mum has taken aim at passengers inside a car which hit and killed her two children after they allegedly fled the scene of the collision.

The mother of a brother and sister killed in a devastating crash in Sydney’s west on Friday has lashed passengers inside the vehicle who allegedly fled the scene as “cowards”.

Angelina Kauffman’s 24 year-old daughter Alina and 15 year-old son Ernesto were killed when Johnson Kokodian, 20, allegedly smashed into their car head-on with his father’s stolen Mercedes Benz in Heckenberg on Friday night.

Residents and other motorists who witnessed the horrific accident ran to try and help the brother and sister in the crumpled hatchback, but there was little that could be done to save the pair.

Footage just after the crash captured by horrified onlookers, which was circulated online in the hours afterwards, showed the sibling's bodies inside their ruined car.

Parramatta Bail Court was told on Sunday that in the moments after the crash, around 9.30pm, Kokozian and his two passengers freed themselves from the SUV by climbing out the sunroof.

They then allegedly jumped into another car which was travelling behind them, and left the scene. Police said no one from the Mercedes made any effort to check on the Kauffman siblings who were critically injured in their Toyota Yaris.

Kokodian is behind bars after being refused bail on Sunday, and a distraught Ms Kauffman hit out at the others not charged following the incident.

“The other three that are out there, you guys are cowards,” she told 7 News.

Police say they have spoken to two other occupants of the vehicle, but are still looking to speak with any witnesses and anyone who may have dash cam or mobile phone vision. The other occupants have not been charged with any crime.

After visiting the scene for a vigil in their honour on Sunday night, a grief-stricken Ms Kauffman revealed the siblings’ surviving sister had seen the footage of the scene herself.

“She said “Mum, (Ernesto’s) mouth was full of blood,” a tearful Ms Kauffman told 7 News. “She said, ‘I just want my brother and sister back, Mum.’”

“I have to identify their bodies... I just want to kiss my kids,” she said.
