IF this friendship doesn’t melt your heart then you’re barking mad.
Deerhound pup Kunzi and wire-haired fox terrier Archie just love to run around Sydney Park together.
“I took Kunzi to the park one day and suddenly she’s playing with this wire-haired fox terrier,” Kunzi’s owner Sandy Waugh said.
“Now Kunzi and Archie are good friends.”
One-year-old Kunzi is the youngest — and cheekiest — of Ms Waugh’s three shaggy deerhounds.
She also has Ruby, 11, and Lena, 4, who is Kunzi’s mum.

“They’re all beautiful and they have very different personalities,” Ms Waugh said, adding she fell in love with deerhounds as a child and has now started breeding them.
“Lena gave birth to nine gorgeous puppies,” she said.
“The other pups have all gone to good homes ... but we had to keep Kunzi. I will never forget how she crawled out of the litter and came to me.”
While deerhounds were first bred for hunting, Ms Waugh said that they were incredibly gentle and made for a perfect pet.
“They are incredibly loyal to their human companions and absolutely adore human company,” she said.
And their doggie pals, it seems.
Ms Waugh, a passionate member of Dogs NSW, will be talking all things deerhound today at Dogs On Show at Orchard Hills.
