Winning pair on the March

YAMBA cyclist Aaron Watts and Iluka all-round athlete Samantha Kerr are the March winners for the Jetts Fitness Sportsperson of the Month.

At 23, senior winner Watts has established himself as an elite road cyclist and is preparing his assault on Australia's top rung - the National Road Series.

Junior winner Kerr, 17, has excelled across a range of sport, most notably athletics, netball and touch football.

Kerr competed at the Australian Junior Athletics Championships in Sydney in March and finished 11th in under-20s high jump. She has won a swag of medals at state level, including high jump gold and triple jump silver at the 2013 NSW CHS Athletics Championships followed by bronze in NSW All Schools high jump.

Kerr also competed for Northern Eagles open women in the National Touch League and will represent Northern Eagles at the NSW Regional Junior Touch League in Goulburn later this month.

The former Maclean High School student - where she was captain of the DEX Shield-winning netball team - recently moved to Sydney to study business and commerce specialising in Sports Management.

Watts and Kerr join all the monthly winners as junior, senior and masters nominees for Grafton Shoppingworld Sportsperson of the Year to be presented at the Clarence Valley Sports Awards in November.
