Semis point to cracking Twenty20 decider

IF THE semi-finals of the new Twent20 competition were anything to go by, the final is going to be a real clash of the giants.

REIGNING Clarence River Cricket Association champions Tucabia-Copmanhurst clashed with Coffs Colts in the Cleavers Mechanical Twenty20 competition yesterday afternoon.

We will have the full story of the grand final in tomorrow's The Daily Examiner, but if their semi-finals were anything to go by it is a real clash of the giants.

Tucabia-Copmanhurst faced last year's Night Competition runners-up Coutts Crossing in Sunday morning's first semi-final.

Coutts batted first, finishing 7-107 after Bill North top-scored with 48.

Tucabia showed their superior class in the chase, proving why they are the CRCA benchmark passing the total for the loss of just one wicket.

In the other semi-final, the visiting Coffs team took on Westlawn.

Batting first, Coffs were skittled for 70, giving Westlawn a sniff of victory.

They crumbled under the pressure however, with Coffs rolling Westlawn for just 50.

The Twenty20 competition replaced the popular Monday Night Competition due to work at McKittrick Park.
