A THIRD quarter barrage handed Sawtell-Toormina comfortable victory over Grafton Tigers in AFL North Coast on Saturday.
Grafton had led 26-21 at the first break and trailed by 10 at half time at Ellem Oval. But Sawtell used its experience to pile on seven goals to two in the third and assert its dominance on the match.
Tigers veteran Dan Zacek remained upbeat, however, describing the loss as a drastic improvement on the loss to Camden Haven the week prior.
"We don't go away disheartened," Zacek said.
"They're one of the best teams in the comp and we're still four or five players from our best.
"We'll take a lot of positives into the game against Port Macquarie next week."
Elsewhere Coffs Swans were too strong in the local derby with North Coffs, 163 to 37, and Port prevailed over Camden Haven 74 to 66.
