Clues pointing towards Hayne getting a debut

JARRYD Hayne has already been told whether he will make his historic NFL debut for San Francisco against the Minnesota Vikings in Santa Clara tomorrow.

JARRYD Hayne has already been told whether he will make his historic NFL debut for San Francisco against the Minnesota Vikings in the final game of the opening round in Santa Clara tomorrow.

But an entire nation will have to wait until 90 minutes before kick-off to find out if he will suit up for the 49ers, as the fairytale storyline around the former rugby league star continues.

In a clue he could be playing, Hayne's mother, Jodie Hayne, and father Manoa Thompson, have been flown in by the franchise to watch the team's opening game of the season.

"Everybody knows that they'll play," 49ers coach Jim Tomsula said of his squad.

When asked whether Hayne would play - most probably on special teams as a kick or punt returner - the usually reserved Tomsula went one further.

"Well, I'll tell you what, if I was in Australia, I'd have the NFL package," Tomsula said.
