A man was placed in an induced coma following a serious motorbike accident on Saturday afternoon.

The man is believed to have crashed his bike before 4pm Saturday at Billy’s Creek, 40km southwest of Nymboida.

He is believed to have suffered multiple serious injuries and ambulance services took him to Dorrigo, where he was met by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

He was then flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by New South Wales Ambulance at 4pm this afternoon to reports of serious motorbike accident at Billys Creek NE of Dorrigo with the rider seriously injured.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics rendezvoused with the Helicopter at Dorrigo and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team have treated and stabilised the 59yo male rider for serious multiple injuries. The gentleman was placed in an induced coma prior to being flown direct to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition for further medical treatment.

According to the Rescue Helicopter it was one mission on a busy day for the chopper service, who flew patients to John Hunter seven times in the 24 hours of yesterday.

On Friday night a prepared a 49 year from Grafton was flown to the Gold Coast in a serious condition.
