For many visitors to the area, the lure of river or ocean views is a huge drawcard.
Others like the view across our cane fields and lush farmlands.
But what if you could have both, and if those views extended more than 270 degrees?
Welcome to Casa del Rio.
The mansion and former horse stud is being redeveloped by Rob and Lorraine Sinnamon into a boutique accommodation venue, and as they prepare to open the house for visitors, they’re excited to show it off.
“We’ve been pretty fortunate to be to some spectacular parts of the world,” Mr Sinnamon said. “And this view still takes my breath away.
“The first time we looked at the house we had to come back the second time to look at the house because we were out with the view.”
The house has five bedrooms and bathrooms across three levels.
Along with expansive open plan living and kitchen areas, it houses a cinema, bar and billiard table, with a “captains room” upstairs to take advantage of the views, with balconies that allow a view out to the ocean, across the river, farmland, and right around to the Broadwater.
“It is a cracking spot, and we’re close to having it ready,” Mr Sinnamon said.
“We’ve just painted and furnished it, and we’re putting airconditioning in.
“We’re hoping it will be ready at Easter or just after.”
Mr Sinnamon said with the size of the house situated high on the hill near Ashby, multiple couples with children could pool together and make it an affordable getaway still close to all the Lower Clarence’s major attractions
And with the tourist market looking more to domestic travel and boutique experiences, Mr Sinnamon said the reaction to their preview on Facebook matched their own excitement.
“We had 3500 people get as excited as we are overnight,” he laughed.
The property will be managed by LJ Hooker Yamba.
