A Grafton man shot by police after a dramatic pursuit in Coffs Harbour has had submissions made on his behalf to court as he remains in a medical facility.

Jason Michael Stewart, 29, is facing multiple charges after he allegedly drove at police, was shot in the shoulder and then led police on a car chase where he was eventually surrounded in Hogbin Drive on April 14.

Mr Stewart’s solicitor Anne-Alece Johnston appeared on his behalf in Grafton Court and sought adjournment till May 2 noting Mr Stewart remains in the medical clinic at Clarence Correctional Centre.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Fairleigh told the court the police are getting instructions for any separate proceedings for court, the question of jurisdiction is being determined and that further charges might be laid.

The matter is adjourned till May 2.

Charges include 13 counts of supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, seven counts of supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, six counts of supplying a small quantity of a prohibited drug and possessing a prohibited drug.

He also was charged with two counts of recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime in excess of $5000 and recklessly deal with the proceeds of crime equal to or less than $5000.

Stewart had appeared earlier at Port Macquarie Court on March 16.
