A Wilsonton man who went on a two day interstate crime-spree has been caught in the New South Wales town of Grafton following a police pursuit.
Coffs/Clarence police alleged the 41-year-old man stole a silver Toyota Yaris from Waterford West on July 5 and then drove towards NSW.
The next morning, they alleged he committed a break and enter at the tiny rural village of Cangai, just off the Gwydir Highway, 50km west of Grafton.
He then filled the car with petrol at the nearby Mann River Caravan Park, and police allege he drove off without paying.
A Coffs/Clarence police district highway patrol car intercepted the man on the outskirts of Grafton allegedly driving at excessive speed and commenced a pursuit.
One minute into the pursuit, the man collided with another vehicle at a roundabout and was arrested.
He was charged with multiple offences including break-and-enter and police pursuit, and was refused bail to reappear in Grafton Local Court on August 16.
