Paramedics have treated 11 people who were involved in two separate crashes that happened nearly at the same time only a short distance apart on the Pacific Highway.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said a woman in her 50s and another person were taken to hospital after a three-car crash in the northbound lanes of the highway.
Emergency services were called to the scene, about 2km north of the Woolgoolga turn off, shortly before 5pm Thursday.
The spokesman said eight people, including two children, were treated at the scene.
He said the woman in her 50s suffered leg and hip injuries and was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital.
It came as crews were also called to a two-car crash further north at Glenugie about the same time on Thursday.
The spokesman said two of the three people involved seemed to be OK but a man in his 70s would be taken to hospital after suffering a cut on his leg.
The crash happened in the southbound lanes and at least one of the vehicles hit a guardrail.
