Man dies after crash at Lawrence, near Grafton

Motorists and an off-duty cop rushed to an elderly man’s aid after a horrific crash outside of Grafton but despite their best efforts, he died at the scene.

Motorists and an off-duty cop rushed to an elderly man’s aid after a horrific crash outside of Grafton but despite their best efforts, he died at the scene.

About 7pm yesterday on Tuesday, emergency services were called to Bridge St, Lawrence, following reports of a crash.

Coffs/Clarence Police attended and found a vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into a culvert.

The 70-year-old male driver was assisted by passing motorists including an off-duty police officer who assisted with CPR prior to emergency services attending.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man but he died at the scene.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing.
