THE Summer Reading Club is offering activity kits for preschool, primary and secondary age groups and super sleuths can uncover a multitude of board games at the libraries in Grafton, Maclean, Yamba and Iluka.
Mayor Richie Williamson said the clues all pointed to the library for a great deal of cool fun in the warmer months.
"There are a range of activities being held across the Valley and all good detectives should find something to enjoy," Cr Williamson said.
There is a special treat at Grafton Library, where underwater gems from the Solitary Island Marine Park will be investigated.
Leading the investigation is guest speaker Brett Vercoe, who specialises in underwater video documentation. He will discuss marine life off our shores and screen amazing footage.
Cr Williamson said there was something for everyone to enjoy.
"Kids can create their own cartoon identity portraits at Grafton and Maclean libraries as they explore elements of the art," he said.
"Craft activities are covered, with steampunk trinket box craft and the ever-popular badge making. Learning chess will be a breeze at Yamba Library, with volunteers on hand to help."
