GOLD Coast recruit Jarryd Hayne could be playing for his new club in Sunday’s clash after inking a deal late last night.

GOLD Coast recruit Jarryd Hayne could be playing for his new club in Sunday's clash against the Warriors after completing a shock two-year switch to the Titans.

The signing was confirmed at a press conference this morning, with Gold Coast chief executive Graham Annesley saying the serial code-hopper would be available to play this weekend at Cbus Super Stadium.

"The deal wasn't agreed upon until close to 10 o'clock last night," Annesley said.

"Not only has Jarryd agreed to terms for the next two years but also agreed to make himself available to play for the Titans for the remainder of the 2016 season.

"So Jarryd will be available to play on Sunday against the Warriors."

Hayne, who gave up his NFL dream with the San Francisco 49ers to pursue a spot on the Fiji Olympic rugby sevens team earlier this year, was expected to re-sign for the Parramatta Eels but a deal never eventuated.

The 28-year-old said he was disappointed not to be headed back to his old club but was excited about the future.

"It's tough, because you know, there was a few clubs that had offered and straightaway. I always wanted to go back to Parra," he said.

"It was a tough decision emotionally, but deep down it was the right one.

"It's been a great journey the last 18 months and I wouldn't change it for the world, but it's nice to be settled."

THE Gold Coast Titans has confirmed the prized signing of Jarryd Hayne to a two year deal that will allow the former San Francisco 49er make a comeback to the rugby league next season.

It's understood the Titans brokered the biggest deal in NRL history to secure Hayne's services, a signing that will continue to boost the club's rise and quest for its first grand final.
 

Hayne spent time with the 49ers last year and also tried out for the Fiji sevens team to contest the Rio Olympics.

The 28 year-old had been tipped to return to Parramatta where he has played close to 200 games.

But the Titans, who threw $2 million at Manly halfback Daly Cherry-Evans last year are believed to have upped the offer to snare Hayne as the biggest player signing in its history.

Cherry-Evans back-flipped on the deal but it proved a win for the Titans with young signing Ash Taylor proving one of the surprise packets of 2016.

The club has called a press conference at its Gold Coast headquarters at 10.30am to make a major announcement.

After releasing superstar Kieran Foran recently, it was expected Parramatta would go hard to sign Hayne to join Semi Radradra as a dominant backline force.

However the Titans swooped and has convinced Hayne he is the player they can build a premiership team around.

Hayne has played 20 Origins for NSW and 12 Tests for Australia and before his shock departure from the NRL to have a shot at playing NFL, he was considered one of the game's best players.
