GRAFTON's New Year's Eve celebration has outgrown its shopping centre roots, and is on the hunt for a new home.

According to Grafton Shoppingworld's strategic marketing manager Kelle' Murphy, the incredible success of the New Year's Eve event, which has run in the centre's car park for the past two years, meant it could no longer run on site.

Which is why she has thrown out the call to community and sporting groups who may be able to run the event as a major fundraiser.

"It has been such a success over the past two years with thousands of people watching the fireworks display and outdoor movie," Ms Murphy said.

"We feel that with this community support, the event could provide an amazing fundraising opportunity for a local sporting or community group'. Should one of our local community or sporting groups step up to take on the organisation of a Grafton New Year's Eve event, Grafton Shoppingworld would be willing to discuss sponsoring the fireworks display for the community on New Year's Eve' again in 2016."

She said those at Grafton Shoppingworld would be happy to provide all necessary information and details on the success of the event to the future organiser. For more information, phone MsMurphy on 6642 7770.
