A cheer erupted around Yamba's Main Beach as the clock struck midnight, and the Pacific Hotel's fireworks shot up into the night sky.
Thousands of holiday makers and locals took advantage of the festive atmosphere of the coastal town to celebrate the end of 2010.
Yamba's entertainment venues came alive with a mix of events, from the night on the greens at the Yamba Golf Club, to live DJs and bands at other venues.
Earlier in the night, crowds gathered with young and old for a preview of what was to come with an early fireworks display over the annual carnival.
