Man found collapsed beside the road south of Yamba, NSW

The man was discovered by a passer-by who, fearing he had been hit by a car, immediately called triple-0.

A man has been transported to hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics after being discovered on the side of the road south of Yamba.

Just after 8am Thursday morning, a passer-by found the man laying on the ground beside Southbank Road, Palmers Channel.

Coffs-Clarence Police chief inspector Jo Reid said that the man had not been struck by a vehicle but had collapsed due to a medical episode.

“It’s believed there was a battery change in the male’s pacemaker yesterday,” she said.

Highway Patrol were also at the scene to direct traffic while paramedics treated the man at the scene.
