Yamba woman Ngaio Miller says she kept coming up short when trying to find stylish yet practical equestrian outfits.
So she had done something about it.
“I originally wanted to find a long-sleeve shirt to wear because we have a lot of mosquitoes around here but all I could find online were shirts with, quite frankly, over-the-top horse logos in very large print across the front,” she said.
“I kept looking, but the next problem was finding anything that wasn’t just boring, plain clothing.”
She said she set out to design equestrian apparel that could be worn from the show ring to the shopping centre without having to change clothes.
Ms Miller said her goal with the launch of Equestrian Rider Apparel was to introduce a more youthful horse rider apparel line to cater to all shapes and sizes.
“At the moment we have two collections, Pink Floral and Blue Marble which you can mix and match leggings, tops, jumpers, jackets, even accessories for your horse,” she said.
“If we get enough feedback from that, we might look at doing a youth collection.”
In the meantime, Ms Miller has been busy filling orders.
“We’ve had a fantastic response on social media and people are excited to have something different,” she said.
“We are also hoping to find a sponsored rider or a brand ambassador to represent our brand, so we’re keen to hear from anyone – any shape or size – who’d be interested.”
