Vincent Williams is kicking goals as Grafton’s first and only Indigenous real estate agent

Ghosts’ football player Vincent Williams is kicking goals off the field as he brings an approachable manner to property ownership in the real estate game.

Industry leaders welcome 'focus' on housing affordability

The first Aboriginal real estate agent in Grafton plays a solid game on the weekends for the Ghosts Rugby Leagues Club but he is also doing a solid during the work week in his bid to bring home ownership to everyone.

Elders Real Estate agent Vincent Williams, 23, is a Yaegl and Bundjalung man originally from Maclean.

“As far as I know I’m the first and only Aboriginal real estate agent in Grafton,” Mr Williams said.

Mr Williams said being an Aboriginal man means he will be able to bring an approachability to his role that can be of value to locals who want to buy their own property.

“Not many of our people own their own home,” Mr Williams said.

“I think it’s everyone’s right and I know that breaking the cycle and getting into your own home as an owner can be difficult’.

This year Mr Williams sold his first property 1 Flame Street at auction and is eagerly looking for his second sale.

“Now is the best time to be selling,” Mr Williams said.

Last year while he worked as a buyer’s agent under Elders Real Estate Director and Head of Sales Benny Holder they reached record sales.

At 36 Tallowood Street South Grafton they made a street record sale with $700,000.

And in Braun Street Grafton they sold a block of four units for $1.2 million.

Mr Williams has his certificate of registration and is currently studying his real estate license.
