IT IS still almost three weeks away but this year's Blues, Brews and BBQ's Yamba Cup Day is shaping as one of the most-anticipated meetings of 2014.

The annual event attracts more than 1000 people to the Clarence River Jockey Club and executive officer Michael Beattie said it was a day that had something for everyone.

"Blues, Brews and BBQ's is a very interesting concept in that it looks after many different interests," Beattie said.

"For the food perspective we play around with the menu every year and that itself throws up a few interesting options.

"Our association with Lion Nathan has helped the James Squire tasting as well.

"We now provide children's entertainment as well so there is something for everyone.

"It's an opportunity for those who come along to the races to try something they may not normally do."

Along with the barbecues and beer tasting, the CRJC will become the place to be to unwind with a few Blues tunes.

"We've gone all out to make it bigger," Beattie said.

"We've always had four bands play but this year we've got them doing longer sets, which means the music will be playing until well after the final race.

"Our promotions manager Wayne Phillips does a lot of work for the day and has done well."

Amongst all of the festivities however there is still a high-quality race meeting, with some of the region's best horses set to contest the Yamba Cup.

The day is supported by the Yamba Golf and Country Club, which will be providing a bus for those that wish to travel from Lower Clarence.

Tickets can be purchased through the Yamba Golf and Country Club.
