AUSTRALIA could find itself the world’s pot dealer with the federal government granting approval for the export of medicinal cannabis.

Health Minister Greg Hunt said medicinal cannabis product exports would help the developing domestic market.

“By helping the domestic manufacturers to expand, this, in turn, helps to ensure an ongoing supply of medicinal cannabis products here in Australia,” he said.

Mr Hunt said he hoped Australia could eventually be the world’s top medicinal cannabis supplier.

Regulations preventing export will be changed when Parliament resumes in February.
