HOURS before he allegedly murdered his wife, police will claim Jagdish Singh, 57, purchased a knife from a nearby shopping centre.
Police have charged Mr Singh with the murder his wife Harjit Kaur, 56, at their Glenwood home in Western Sydney about 4.30pm yesterday.
He did not apply for bail during a brief appearance in Blacktown Local Court this morning.
But police are expected to allege Mr Singh made a stop at a supermarket in Sydney’s north west, purchased the knife and then headed home where the alleged murder took place.
Mr Singh was arrested outside the Kings Langley TAB, which he frequented often.
It is believed the deceased woman was found by her adult son who arrived home and called police.
The accused’s Legal Aid lawyer said he would not make a bail application and asked for the case to be adjourned to Penrith Local Court.
He will next appear in court on May 5.
Monir Bahadori said the family had lived at the address since 2007 and had two sons, who had graduated from high school in recent years.
She said the husband was seen walking up and down outside the house yesterday afternoon.
