SHOCKING video has emerged of a vicious assault on a teenage girl and a friend at a Sydney railway station.
The 13-year-old was punched, kicked and kneed in the head by a group of six teenage girls at Blacktown railway station last Tuesday afternoon as she and a 15-year-old friend and two other friends waited for a bus.
A shocking video, allegedly captured by one of the assailants’ friends, shows the gang cursing and threatening the 13-year-old before one attacker throws a coward punch and the group launches in on the defenceless teenager.
Her 15-year-old friend forced herself on top of the cowering victim, protecting her head until passers-by eventually pulled the pack of girls off.
The two teens said the assault was unprovoked.
“I was scared, I didn’t know when it was going to stop,” the younger victim said.
“I’m just so thankful for what (my friend) did, it just showed me that she’s a friend to me. If I was by myself well I don’t want to think about what might have happened.”
A police spokesman said a 16-year-old Mt Druitt girl arrested at the scene would be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act and investigations were still pending.
A Sydney Trains spokesman said the “safety and security of our customers and staff is the top priority”.
