Get ready Sydney, we’re in for another scorcher this long weekend
The short relief from the state’s devastating heatwave earlier this week ended on Tuesday with temperatures soaring again. Parts of NSW hit 42C and we could see similar heat this long weekend.
Talk about copping a spray.
A huge swell off the coast at Newcastle on Tuesday gave the hardy souls keen to cool down at Bogey Hole an absolute pounding.
Blue skies and a 27C day kept one of Newcastle’s oldest attractions busy all day with local thrillseekers.

The heritage-listed baths were constructed in 1820 to keep then Commandant Morisset cool.
Across the state temperatures soared again, with western NSW enduring the worst of it.
Dubbo has now recorded eight days in a row of temperatures above 40C.
Meanwhile, Broken Hill hit 42C and will endure similar temperatures for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
The run to Australia Day is set to deliver some steamy summer temperatures in Sydney, too, with temperatures expected to stay close to or above 30C. In western Sydney, the temperatures will edge up until Saturday’s 41C.
