Four under 15 charged after Burwood train station brawl

VIDEO: Four girls including one as young as 11 have been charged after they allegedly attacked a group at a train station, with wild footage capturing the altercation.

An 11-year-old is among a group of young girls charged over an alleged brawl in Sydney’s inner west over the weekend, with footage of the wild fight emerging on social media.

About 9pm on Saturday police raced to Burwood station after reports of a brawl, and were told two women aged 27, a woman aged 44 and a 27 year-old man had been attacked by a group of girls.

Footage of the incident, shared online showed the group of screaming women tussling on the platform, with bags strewn on the ground, fists flying and hair being pulled.

The clip also appears to show one girl being hit by three others at one point before one woman with her headscarf half torn off her head drags one away and another falls to the ground before screaming as one girl tries to drag her by her hair across the platform.

Footage of the brawl was posted on social media.

Forty seconds of the fight showed the girls shoving, hitting and screaming at each other.

A man is seen to enter the fray and tries to separate the group, screaming “Chill, girl, chill” as a female station attendant also tries to help stop the incident escalating further.

One man tried to break up the incident.

Police arrived soon after and four girls were arrested.

Police confirmed four girls were arrested at the scene and taken to Burwood Police Station.

Three girls aged 11, 12 and 14 were all charged with two counts of common assault, and a 15-year-old girl was charged with four counts of common assault.

All were granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court this month.
