TODAY marks 1019 sleeps since William Tyrrell was abducted.
That’s 1019 sleeps since the little boy felt his parents’ arms around him and 1019 nights of unimaginable heartbreak, fear and tears.
William Tyrrell was just three years old when he disappeared from his grandmother’s home in Kendall, in the state’s mid-north coast. Today, the little boy who has captured the nation’s heart turns six years old.
The Where’s William campaign has posted a touching tribute to William on his sixth birthday and is urging people right across the world to light a candle for his special day.
They are also encouraging people to host a Where’s William cake stall in workplaces, schools or communities and donate the money to the Where’s William campaign.
“Today marks 1019 days since William’s mum and dad last held their precious little boy,” the post read.
“Today we will think of William, his family and all the children who are missing, and when we light a candle for William, we’ll be sending a message of love, support and continued hope to them all.
“On his special day please join us in lighting a candle for William, a candle of love for this little man and a candle of hope, hope that soon Williams will be found and returned to the arms of his family where he belongs,” it read
Hundreds of supporters have offered their sympathy and warm wishes on the campaign’s Facebook page.
“Happy Birthday William, Australia is thinking of you today and always and we are praying someone brings you home today,” one comment read.
“Happy Birthday buddy, I won’t forget you, we share a special day - our birthdays. Wish you could be home with your family like I am,” another read.
In 2016 Newscorp reported there were almost 700 people in the sights of the investigators and in September 2016, a $1 million reward for information on William’s disappearance was announced.
