UNDER siege Labor MP Emma Husar has been accused of flashing a staff member while not wearing any underwear while in Jason Clare’s office, in a manoeuvre made famous by the film Basic Instinct.

The Daily Telegraph yesterday spoke with Ms Husar’s former staff member who claimed he and Ms Husar went into Labor MP Jason Clare’s office at Parliament House where, while sitting opposite him, she spread her legs while not wearing underwear.

The staff member said at first he thought it was a mistake but then claimed Ms Husar repeated the move several times.

He did not know if Mr Clare was aware of what Ms Husar was doing, saying Mr Clare was playing with his son at the time and sitting beside, rather than opposite, Ms Husar.

Mr Clare said today that he was never flashed by Ms Husar.

“This is categorically untrue,” he said.

Ms Husar said the allegations were “absolute lies” that have been “fabricated” by her former staff member to “ruin” her reputation.

“This smear is completely and utterly untrue, unfair and hurtful beyond belief. 100 per cent false,” she tweeted.

“I have done my best to co-operate with the investigation and clear my name, but it’s clear these people will stop at nothing to destroy me.”

The allegation is among several contained in a 20 page letter to Ms Husar, sent by barrister John Whelan, who has been investigating her workplace conduct at the request of NSW ALP.

Buzzfeed News reports today in the letter, dated May 16, Mr Whelan lists allegations that include misuse of funds and entitlements, workplace bullying, intimidation, verbal abuse, spreading false rumours, sexualised behaviour and sexual harassment.

The report states staff told Whelan Ms Husar would talk about sex and engage in inappropriate sexualised behaviour in the office.

“Several employees reported that you would discuss in the office who you found attractive and who you wanted to have sex with or who you have had sex with including references to Members of Parliament and members of staff,” Buzzfeed News reports Mr Whelan wrote in his letter to Ms Husar.

A spokesman for Bill Shorten said the Labor leader had not seen the letter referred to in today’s article.

He maintained that NSW ALP only informed the Opposition Leader of the independent investigation on July 18 following a media inquiry.

NSW Labor says people involved in the investigation have “expressed concerns about the impact of this matter on their well being” as further allegations emerge on the investigation.

A spokesman said Mr Whelan’s assessment of the complaints was continuing and blamed delays in the investigation on continued public speculation.

It is a cause of some delay to the process and is serving to escalate tensions in an environment where parties to the Assessment have expressed concerns about the impact of this matter on their wellbeing.

“The Independent Assessment is reaching its final stages and NSW Labor expects to be briefed by Mr Whelan in the coming weeks,” the spokesman said.

“It is a cause of some delay to the process and is serving to escalate tensions in an environment where parties to the Assessment have expressed concerns about the impact of this matter on their wellbeing.”

“NSW Labor will not be commenting on any matters which may be before the Independent Assessment.”

Staff have also alleged that Ms Husar asked them to work as childminders and pick up her dog’s faeces when taking it for a walk.

It follows revelations in The Daily Telegraph this week that Ms Husar saw a Bruno Mars concert while she was on a taxpayer funded trip.

She is now under investigation by the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority for possible misuse of taxpayer funds.
