It wasn’t just the price of petrol shocking the patrons of a Sydney eastern suburbs service station last week.
Rather it was one customer, who not only failed to wear a mask but who also decided to forego clothes entirely, rocking up to Edgecliff BP wearing nothing but his birthday suit, some sandals and a pair of sunglasses.
While the reason for the man’s nudie run remain unclear, CCTV footage from inside the service station last Thursday appears show the man walk in nude, pay for fuel, and walk out without incident.
In the footage, the middle-aged man with grey hair is wearing dark sunglasses, and brown sandals, and appears to pay for his fuel using his smart phone, while the employee behind the counter remains unfazed.
One can only speculate that perhaps the recent humidity was a factor in the man’s choice — or lack thereof — in attire.
NSW Police confirmed to The Daily Telegraph they received no calls regarding the incident, and urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
BP refused to comment, while an owner of a nearby business said the behaviour was “shameful” and it was the first time something like this had occurred in the area.
