Slain teenager Uati Faletolu has been farewelled in an emotional funeral, with his family performing one last haka to send off the much-loved 17-year-old.

Hundreds gathered to pay their final respects to Uati ‘Pele’ Faletolu, the teenager who died after a brutal stabbing at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Mourners carried his coffin draped in a traditional cloth and wearing shirts with the young man’s face with angel wings and a halo on it.

His three siblings, in all black, watched on as the hearse carried their brother away for a private burial service.

The Hillsong Church in Baulkham Hills was packed with family, friends and loved ones still grieving his tragic death.

Uati, 17, died after a confrontation near a ride he was working on at the show during school holidays on April 11.

“I wish everyone who was there put down their phones and helped my boy,” his mother Janice told mourners on Friday morning.

Uati leaves behind a young pregnant girlfriend and a plethora of shattered friends from school and footy.

After the service his family let off balloons outside the church.

“Uati we miss you so much and your loss is deeply felt. We are so proud of the man you became and we will cherish every memory we have with you always,” the order of service read.

Across the ditch the teen’s large extended family are also processing their grief.

His New Zealand relatives let off balloons into the sky and battled through tears to pay tribute to the promising young footy star at a church gathering on Thursday night.

They too donned shirts with the young man’s face.

“Growing up with Uati’s smile and humour, he was always just so funny,” his cousin Maria said.

“I miss him already.”

“We will leave it in God’s hands now and pray for forgiveness,” his uncle Metai said.

“Forgive and let it go, don’t carry this stuff on.”

Police say teen who stabbed Uati is still on the run, the only person charged so far is a 15-year-old who came to the aid of the young man.

Detectives are looking into whether the altercation has links to Sydney’s postcode war after it emerged the two groups who came to blows were from neighbouring rival suburbs.
