Yesterday, Border Force officers and NSW police officers raided a house at Regents Park, confiscating 100g of ice, drug paraphernalia and other equipment used in the manufacture of illicit drugs.
The Chinese national was charged with importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled precursor, an offence that carries a maximum sentence of 25 years behind bars.
Ephedrine is used to make ice, which retails in Sydney for $50/gram.

ABF Investigations Superintendent Garry Low said the arrest had prevented a significant quantity of ice hitting Sydney’s streets.
“The seizure of 87kg of ephedrine has prevented the potential manufacture of hundreds of thousands hits of ice,” he said.
The man appeared at Central Local Court on today and was refused bail, with the matter adjourned until tomorrow.
