A power pole was badly splintered when a young man lost control of his Toyota Hilux ute in Sydney’s inner west, leaving it suspended in the air.
The driver, estimated to be aged 19, hit the pole on Liverpool Rd near Kelso St in Burwood Heights this morning.
The force of the crash lifted the Hilux’s back wheels off the ground and lodged the tow ball on a brick fence while the bullbar was crushed into the car.
Paramedics treated the man for several broken fingers and cuts to his arms.
