Officials clearing out the newly vacated office allegedly found a dildo, lubricant and other items.

The discovery of the inappropriate items by female parliamentary workers will fuel the debate about the sexually-charged environment inside Parliament House.

It has been alleged that escorts have been brought into Parliament House.

The staffer is understood to have been involved in the sharing of lewd photos and videos, as alleged by a whistleblower earlier this week.

It was revealed several staff members had shared obscene images and videos, including of one performing a sex act on a female MP’s desk while also inviting in prostitutes.

The whistleblower also claimed female and male escorts were brought into Parliament House, a claim Prime Minister Scott Morrison said yesterday he was taking “very seriously”.

One staffer is understood to have left his job in the office of the Chief Government Whip, following the allegations, with the government under increasing pressure to identify and dismiss all the individual involved.

One staffer, Nathan Winn, was identified as one of those involved.

With lists of names of the alleged participants circulating on social media, the government has been under increasing pressure to identify those involved to clear the names of innocent staff.

Mr Morrison thanked the whistleblower who handed over evidence about the alleged use of male sex workers.

The whistleblower who exposed Coalition staff performing lewd sex acts in female MPs’ offices has claimed he passed on information to Finance Minister Simon Birmingham and Labor Senator Kristina Keneally.

“This is a very serious issue, and I want to thank the individual who we reached out to and asked them through an intermediary to come forward and be able to give us some information,” Mr Morrison said.

“And with anything as sensitive as this it’s important that it follows its proper process. So I’m going to let the people do their job, it isn’t appropriate that I provide a running commentary on each step on of that process.

“But Australians should know that we’re taking this very seriously and following up on all the information that has been provided to us. But it’s important that that is done in a proper way. It shouldn’t be done on Twitter it shouldn’t be done in the media. It should be done through a proper process and investigation, which is now under way.”

Asked whether he had misjudged the mood of the nation, Mr Morrison, who indicated he would be willing to meet with Brittany Higgins, who alleges she was raped in Parliament House then not taken seriously when she reported it, said he was doing everything he could “to get this right”.

“This is a very deep and difficult issue which has so many different dimensions,” he said.
