COVID conspiracy: The rumour behind Sydney cluster’s Patient Zero
All sorts of theories have been popping up regarding who was the patient zero who began the latest COVID-19 cluster, with even a couple of high-profile actors suspected.

It is the whodunnit that the whole of Sydney thinks it has solved.
If you believe the rumour mill, the only people who don’t know the answer it seems are NSW Health because everyone else knows who patient zero - or patients zero - are to blame to bringing COVID-19 onto the Northern Beaches.
Whole scenarios have been created around what Health Minister Brad Hazzard insists is a myth. But he would say that wouldn’t he? For privacy reasons.
Someone knows the personal trainer they hired from Anytime Fitness to go to their home for a private workout, which is why the gym has been declared a hotspot. Another person knows the local store which has been delivering food to them so their personal chef can create their exacting dining requirements and that’s how the virus has escaped.
Names are being bandied about all over the place from everyone who knows on the Northern Beaches to Hunters Hill, Bondi and everywhere in between.
Their identities do change but everyone is sure that they have got it right. No, not them. It’s Them.
Mr Hazzard and the state’s health chief Dr Kerry Chant got through a lengthy press conference yesterday assuring the media who asked the same question several times that they do not know who patient zero is.
But our neighbours know and so do our friends on the other side of Sydney because they know someone who has been told who it is.
It’s all a bit ridiculous.

They used to have a home north of Avalon and still stay at a friend’s place but he said of the baseless rumour that it might be them: “Not true and we haven’t been out of the country this year”.
Asked if it was a returned traveller from LA, Premier Gladys Berejiklian asked people not to speculate. She has heard the rumours as well.
But they have to be true because the same bottle shop where they are buying their alcohol is the same place that some years ago never delivered to Mick Jagger when he wasn’t staying at Palm Beach either.
