The wives and girlfriends of Australia’s star cricketers say the summer of Test clashes with India has seen new levels of excitement and entertainment in Sydney and around the nation.

Even the most elite of cricket fans love a beer snake.

The wives and girlfriends of some of Australia’s star cricketers, Rachel Khawaja, Usman Khawaja’s wife, Dani Willis, Steve smith’s wife, and Eloise Carey, Alex Carey’s wife, have expressed their adoration of Aussie cricket traditions, proving they love the atmosphere of the game as much as anyone.

Rachel Khawaja said cricket has reached new levels recently.

“This summer we have just seen interest in test cricket amplify. It feels like the whole nation is getting behind the boys and the excitement and entertainment level of test cricket has just gone up and up,” she said.

She said she adores watching the crowd embrace the sport.

“The beer snake is always an entertaining ones and I love the Richie Benaud, the dress ups. The Indian fans are just incredible. They are so passionate they have been here every single game, the guy who paints his face and does the drums; he has been here every day,” Mrs Khawaja said.

“The enormity of the series and how much excitement we have seen and controversial and dramas, it’s really roped everyone in. There’s been a lot of talking points,” she said.

However, for all the excitement, there’s nothing she is more passionate about than the Jane McGrath day, set to take place on Sunday.

“It’s a very exciting year for the McGrath foundation they are now stretching into all cancer care nurses versus just breast cancer care nurses,”

“Tomorrow is going to be a really exciting day for them to share that journey with everyone. I think tomorrow we will see even more support, I just want to encourage everyone to buy those pink virtual tickets and support the boys and support the foundation,” Mrs Khawaja said.

For Alex Carey’s wife Eloise, the move to extending the McGrath foundation’s care has added meaning.

“Alex’s dad has, Acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and when I come to the McGrath foundation days and hear about all these amazing services that comes with the breast care, we thought this is exactly what Gordo needs, and the fact that it’s now extending beyond breast cancer (is amazing).”
