Young boy hit by car near skate park on Harbour Drive, Coffs Harbour

Passers by rendered assistance before he was taken to hospital with head injury.

A young boy has been taken to hospital after he was struck by a car on a busy Coffs Harbour street.

About 4.45pm on Tuesday afternoon a boy, believed to be 12-years-old, was walking over a crossing on Harbour Drive towards the Brelsford Park skate park when he was struck by a car travelling west.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and stopped to render assistance as did other people in the vicinity.

An ambulance was called and paramedics treated the boy for shoulder and head injuries before taking him to Coffs Harbour hospital in a stable condition.

Coffs/Clarence Police confirmed investigations into the incident are ongoing.
