There’s nothing like a bit of ice cream to improve the mood, especially when it’s free.

If there’s one thing that could possibly help lift the mood of Thursday’s lockdown extension it’s ice cream.
Thankfully, the folks at Box Factory Burgers in Woolgoolga have come up with a plan to turn those lockdown frowns upside down — they are handing out free ice cream.
For as long as the lockdown lasts, anyone who makes an order by phone will receive a free soft-serve from their brand new machine.
Owner Dustin Bowie-Ford said they had only just received the new machine when the stay-at-home orders were announced and instead of having it sit there – they decided to put it to good use.
“It’s just a little bit extra in the times when people are taking a little bit away.”
“(We wanted) to give everyone a little something during lockdown.”
Mr Bowie-Ford was speaking on Thursday, just hours after the state government had announced the regional lockdown would continue for at least another week and acknowledged he was lucky to be able to do takeaway trade easily compared to others.
And importantly, he committed to the free soft-serve for as long as the lockdown lasts.
“We will just keep it up until it is done.”
