A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with a raft of offences after he allegedly raided a home and stole a car in Coffs Harbour.
Coffs-Clarence Police District officers took the teenager into custody at a Toormina property about 4.40am on February 2, following investigations.
He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station and slapped with 10 charges in total, including three counts of driving unlicensed without ever having held a licence and two counts of taking and driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
The juvenile was also charged with one count each of breaking and entering a home, stealing of a value of under $60,000, entering a dwelling with intent to steal, engaging in a police pursuit and driving dangerously.
He has been refused bail.
The boy was due to face Children’s Court on February 13.
The boy’s arrest in the wake of his alleged offending comes as the Coffs community continues to vent its frustration over youth crime.
