Shakira-Leigh McDonald pleads not guilty to assault charges at Hoey Moey pub at Coffs Harbour
A toga night at a popular Mid-North Coast nightspot ended with a patron in hospital after she allegedly assaulted a staff member and struck a police officer.

A young woman was booted out of a popular Coffs Harbour drinking hole before allegedly assaulting a police officer and passing out.
Shakira-Leigh McDonald, 20, appeared in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday where she pleaded not guilty to common assault and assaulting a police officer.
She also pleaded not guilty to failing to leave a premises, attempting to re-enter the premises, remaining in the vicinity of the premises and damaging property.
Court documents state the alleged conduct occurred at the Hoey Moey on Ocean Pde in Coffs Harbour shortly after 10pm on Friday, June 21.
McDonald was involved in an incident with another female patron, the documents state.
She was asked to leave by a staff member, who was wearing a white robe for a toga night, but after being carried out McDonald allegedly tried to re-enter the building.
Documents state McDonald allegedly damaged trees, perspex and a pot before being removed from the premises entirely by the worker.
The staff member frogmarched McDonald to a patch of grass where they waited for police to arrive.
Documents state another staff member assisting was allegedly scratched on the arm by McDonald after she “suddenly snapped”.
After police arrived, McDonald allegedly told an officer “Don’t f--king touch me” and hit a constable.
McDonald was handcuffed and passed out, resulting in an ambulance being called to take her to hospital.
The case is due to return to Coffs Harbour Local Court in October. McDonald was excused from attending if legally represented, after her solicitor told the court she had moved to Sydney.
