A police officer has been hospitalised after he was allegedly put through a car window while trying to arrest a wanted man.
On Wednesday Coffs/Clarence police officers were patrolling the Pacific Highway when they spotted a man wanted on outstanding warrants near the Argyll Street intersection.
Surveillance video later obtained by Coffs Coast Advocate showed the car being pursued by police through Park Avenue.
When police located the man he allegedly fled and was pursued on foot by officers.
When a male senior constable attempted to apprehend him, the man allegedly resisted and a struggle ensued, resulting in both men hitting the window of a nearby parked car.
The window shattered, causing the officer to sustain serious lacerations to his face, arm and body while other officers assisted and arrested the 33-year-old.
The injured officer was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus in a stable condition.

He was refused bail to appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court on Thursday.
