Police hunting attacker after violent stabbing in the Coffs CBD
A person fled from the scene after the stabbing on Saturday night. Police have released a description of a man they want to speak to.

Police have released a description of a man they want to speak to in relation to a stabbing in the Coffs Harbour CBD on Saturday night.
Just before 9.30pm, a 22-year-old man was reportedly walking south on Grafton Street (Pacific Highway) opposite the Coast Hotel when he was approached by a man who was not known to him.
After a brief conversation, he was stabbed in the back before the armed man fled.
The armed man was last seen on Park Avenue.
Police were notified and officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The injured man was treated before being taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital in a stable condition.
His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Detectives have commenced an investigation and as inquiries continue would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man has been described as being about 180cm tall, of a slim build, and with a short brown beard.
He was wearing an orange/red coloured hooded jumper, blue track pants and black shoes at the time.
