An apprentice plumber caught in a special covert police operation designed to break the cocaine supply chain in the Coffs Harbour area must wait to learn his fate.

Smartly dressed teen Hamish Christopher Francourt was flanked by supporters when he appeared for sentence in Coffs Harbour Local Court.

His barrister Peter Davies told the court on Wednesday that the 19-year-old had been accepted into the MERIT (Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment) program, and asked for the matter to be adjourned for four weeks.

Magistrate Theresa Hamilton agreed, deferring Francourt’s sentencing to March 15.

The young tradie was excused from appearing in court that day providing he is legally represented.

Francourt has pleaded guilty to one count of supplying a prohibited drug (4g of cocaine) and supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug (14g of MDMA).

Francourt from Coffs Harbour came to police attention when Strike Force Dares – formed last May with the brief of breaking the coke supply chain on the Coffs Coast – intercepted the phone of another man identified as one of the initial targets.

Police allege in documents the man dealt cocaine on a street level in Coffs Harbour.

Officers recorded calls between him and Francourt on June 25.

Francourt was overheard saying: “Can I get some more rack?” and “f--k deadset I’ll literally pay whatever”, according to court documents.

He also asks whether the man has any cocaine not bulked out with cutting agent: “Have you got any straight s--t still?”.

“Oh c--t, I need more rack,” he said.
